New Mitre 10 drive-through caters for outdoor DIYers

Mitre 10 has opened a drive-through garden and landscape centre right beside its Mitre 10 MEGA store in Dunedin.

The stand-alone centre boasts an impressive range of garden products and tools, giving Dunedin’s landscapers and outdoor DIYers a dedicated space to source all of their supplies.

Store owner and Mitre 10 Chairman Martin Dippie said the new centre is completely self-contained and has an exciting range of features.

“The garden and landscaping centre has its own entrance, checkouts and café, and is staffed by a dedicated team who have a wealth of experience in landscaping, horticulture and gardening,” Mr Dippie said.

“By expanding our existing garden centre into the new building we’ve been able to greatly increase our product offering, catering for everyone from casual DIYers to professional landscapers.”

Features of the new centre include a shed village, glasshouse displays, an extended range of plants and professional gardening tools, and a drive-through bulk product area with express parking.

“We have essentially created a trade yard for landscaping and outdoor DIY supplies,” Mr Dippie said.

The new concept is a natural progression for Mitre 10 MEGA, which is already the largest chain of garden centres in New Zealand with 81 stores nationwide.

Mr Dippie said the centre will allow staff to deliver more value to Mitre 10 MEGA customers.

“We’ll be able to help them complete whatever project they’re working on, through a bigger product range, best advice and unbeatable convenience.”
