SCIRT Traffic Update for the week starting Monday 23 May 2016
Moorhouse Avenue Overbridge
• SCIRT repairs to Moorhouse Ave Overbridge have been completed with celebrations on Thursday at which Mayor Lianne Dalziel drove over the bridge in a 1964 Ford Zephyr, the same year the bridge was built.
Barbadoes Street, Central City
• From Monday 23 May for up to 2 weeks, wastewater repairs are taking place on Barbadoes St between Worcester St and Nova Place. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Detours will be in place for westbound traffic on Gloucester St crossing Barbadoes St.
North Avon Road, Richmond
• From Monday 23 May for about 3 months, North Avon Rd will be closed between North Parade and Flesher Ave for wastewater works. Limited vehicle access will be available for residents only. The detour will be North Parade, Medway St and Flesher Ave.
Edgeware Road, St Albans, 3 months restrictions
• Edgeware Rd, between Hills Rd and Geraldine St, is one-way for about 3 months for wastewater repairs. Traffic going west from Hills Rd will be detoured into Edward Ave and Barbadoes St. Please follow all on street signage and traffic management.
Warrington Street, St Albans
• SCIRT is repairing roads and footpaths in Warrington St between Hills Rd and Woodville St for 6 weeks. Two-way traffic will be maintained.
Travis Road, New Brighton, part road closure
• From Tuesday 10 May Travis Rd, between Blue Gum Place and Atlantis St, will be closed for SCIRT wastewater, storm water and road repairs which will take about 2 months. Traffic will be diverted around the site using the former QE11 slip road.
Governors Bay Road, restrictions for 8 weeks, expect delays
• Governors Bay Rd is reduced to one lane on the Lyttelton side of the intersection with Dyers Pass Rd while SCIRT lays 675 metres of new water main. The work will take about 8 weeks.
• Two-way traffic will be maintained with Stop/Go temporary traffic lights.
Woodham Road is closed at the intersection with Worcester St for about 7 months.
• Access to Woodham Rd, east of Worcester St, will be via Sewell St, Carnarvon St and Rowcliffe Crescent.
• Eastbound traffic on Woodham Rd will be diverted via Ngarimu St.
• A “no entry” sign is in place in Woodham Rd at Kerrs Rd and at Ngarimu St.
• The large wastewater main trunk, called the Southern Relief, is being repaired.
Worcester Street, Linwood
• The street remains one-way southbound between Dacre St and Linwood Ave.
New Brighton Road, Burwood
• New Brighton Rd is closed, between Palmers Rd and Baker St, for 2 months for major wastewater, storm water repairs and road repairs. The detour is Pratt St, Keyes Rd and Bowhill Rd.
Ascot Avenue, Parklands
• From Monday 16 May Ascot Ave will be closed for about 3 weeks for road surface repairs. Traffic will be detoured via Flemington Ave.
Bower Avenue, Parklands
• Bower Ave, between Beach Rd and Kristen Pl, has a progressive road closure until June 2016 for wastewater work.
• Bower Ave is one-way southbound between Broadhaven Ave and 516 Bower Ave for about 3 more weeks.
Beach Road, Parklands
The road closure on Beach Rd is now between Pinewood Ave and Beach Rd shops. The work is expected to take 2 more weeks to complete.
The section outside the shops- Naked Baker, Beach Road Fish Supply and North Beach Dairy – has some parking maintained. Please continue to support these local businesses.

Queenspark Drive, Parklands
• Queenspark Dr is closed between Brentwood St and Chadlington St for about one month.
• Queenspark Dr is open to two-way traffic outside Parklands Mall. Please continue to support the shops there.
Aranui -Wainoni
• This area has several road closures. Please take care. SCIRT is installing a new more earthquake-resilient vacuum wastewater system. See the Aranui map for road closures, bus routes and detours.
Breezes Road, Aranui, progressive one-way
• Breezes Rd between Wainoni Rd and Pages Rd will be chipsealed on Monday 23 May. Stop/go traffic management will be in place.
• Breezes Rd is one-way eastbound between Pages Rd and Cuthberts Rd. The detour is Cuthberts Rd, Nugent St, Shortland St, Pages Rd.
