Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter Weekly Round-up 1-7 MAY

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter flew 6 missions over the period as follows:

Sun 01 An afternoon mission to a property near Waverley for a woman in her 20’s who sustained head injuries in a fall from a horse. She was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.

Wed 04 An afternoon mission to pick up a man in his 20’s from Ohakea after he suffered burns to his leg. He was airlifted to Hutt Hospital for specialist treatment.


Thu 05 A morning mission to Akitio for a woman in her 20’s suffering a medical emergency. She was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital. Immediately after the helicopter was sent to State Highway 1 North of Taihape for a Motor Vehicle Accident. A man in his 70’s sustained multiple injuries and was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.

Sat 07 A morning mission to a property near Akitio for a man in his 50’s with an eye injury after he was hit by a shotgun pellet. He was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital. Shortly after the helicopter was sent to Taihape for a man in his 90’s with a foot injury. He was airlifted to Whanganui Hospital.
