Horizons’ community grants close soon

Applications for Horizons Regional Council’s community grants programme close in one week.

The programme, which helped 13 community groups last year, is designed to encourage and support local community groups, schools, early childcare centres and iwi/hapu, with not-for-profit projects designed to enhance the Region’s natural environment.

There is $20,000 available in the community grants programme, which in the past has been used over a range of projects including sand dune stabilisation, native tree planting, wetland preservation and trapping to protect endangered species.

Further information or applications forms are available from Horizons Regional Council offices or online at www.horizons.govt.nz. Applicants have until 5pm on Friday 13 May to get their applications submitted.
