Vector crews kept busy with car v pole incidents

Network summary for week ending 10 April 2016

The end of daylight saving and the start of cooler weather has seen a significant rise in demand during the weekday evening peak.

The peak is more pronounced and up 80 MW from the week daylight saving ended.

Electricity


Eleven car v pole incidents kept Vector crews busy last week. They occurred in Redvale, Favona, Onehunga, Helensville, Sandringham, Ihumatao, Penrose, Mt Roskill, East Tamaki, Ellerslie and Clevedon.

Crews also attended four house fires in Eden Terrace, Karekare, Browns Bay and Helensville at the request of the fire service in order to isolate the electricity supply for safety.

Gas

Third party contractors caused damage to our networks in Awapuni, St Heliers, Ponsonby and Birkenhead.
