St John joins Canterbury’s health alliance
The Canterbury health system has welcomed St John to Canterbury’s district health alliance, the Canterbury Clinical Network (CCN).
The CCN provides leadership to the transformation of the Canterbury health system in collaboration with system partners and on behalf of the people of Canterbury. It is the broadest health alliance in New Zealand with 11 partner organisations.
St John General Manager South Island David Thomas said St John is looking forward to further opportunities for collaboration with its new partners in the CCN.
“St John is thrilled to be joining the Canterbury Clinical Network. The work St John does in the community and in the emergency medical space has many links and parallels with the work of its new partners in the Network.”
Mr Thomas said formalising the relationship with the CCN reaffirmed St John’s commitment “to working collaboratively with our health colleagues to find the best pathways and solutions for the health care of Cantabrians and their communities”.
Independent Chair on the CCN Alliance Leadership Team, Sir John Hansen said this was a milestone in the alliance’s history.
“Our vision is an integrated health system that keeps people healthy and well in their own homes, so St John’s commitment to work with us is great news for the people of Canterbury.
“We have worked closely with St John in many areas of our transformational work, and the formalisation of St John’s commitment to the alliance further strengthens this connection and the significant results that have already been achieved.
“We’re proud to have partners from across the whole of the Canterbury health system and to have already driven considerable transformations to our health and social services that have benefited the people of Canterbury,” Mr Hansen said.
“It is the commitment of our Alliance Partners to work together towards our joint vision that makes these achievements possible. I personally welcome St John into our alliance with eager anticipation of the great work we can achieve together.”
