Free popsicles in New Regent Street this weekend!

Pop into New Regent Street this weekend and grab yourself a free popsicle!

Tip Top and New Regent Street shop owners are teaming up to treat locals and tourists on Saturday and Sunday to a limited number of berry smash Popsicle Smoothies.

"Here at Tip Top, we are proud to support an iconic street with our iconic brand," said Fonterra Brands' Business Development Manager Chrissie Anderson.

Rowena Watson, who owns two shops in New Regent Street, said she was "absolutely delighted and thankful" that Tip Top had got behind the street.

"We want everyone to know that we are open as usual, even with earthquake repairs going on in some New Regent Street buildings. What better way to encourage people to visit us than with free icecream!" Ms Watson said.

Before or after a frozen treat, people can enjoy the many New Regent Street cafes and retail stores that will be open this weekend, all while wandering through the vibrant historic buildings that are a main attraction of the street.

"If you're thinking of checking out the Margaret Mahy Family Playground this weekend, make sure to come and see us! The playground is just around the corner," Ms Watson said.

The popsicles will be given away on Saturday 2 April and Sunday 3 April from 1.00pm to 1.30pm, outside Q Mortgages (Shop 5).

People can access New Regent Street from either Armagh or Gloucester streets.
