SkyPath gives birth to SeaPath
NZTA’s public consultation on the SeaPath walking and cycling link between Takapuna and the northern landing of SkyPath
is warmly welcomed by the SkyPath Trust.
AHB Pathway Trustee and Project Director Bevan Woodward says “SeaPath was originally developed by our project team in
response to the Northcote Residents Association who advised that a direct link to Takapuna via Shoal Bay was required
before they could support SkyPath progressing.
We are very pleased that NZTA picked up on our initial work and is advancing the project. Whilst SkyPath and SeaPath are
each being evaluated on their own merits, we are expecting significant synergies through the implementation of both
projects.”
SkyPath Trust’s chairperson Christine Rose says "The birth of SeaPath is delivering on the ethos of SkyPath which we
always saw as being the catalyst to a walking and cycling network across Auckland.
We're confident SkyPath and the connecting network will provide long term economic, health, environmental and social
benefits for New Zealanders for decades to come."
