Introducing White & Wong's Southeast Asian fusion restaurant

Published: Fri 4 Mar 2016 03:40 PM
The viaduct’s newest opening, White & Wong's brings bold and fresh Asian flavours to the waterfront with some of the best harbour views in town to match its 'east meets west' cuisine.
White & Wong's menu has been developed by Good Group executive chef Stuart Rogan and his culinary team who have created an eclectic a la carte menu for diners, designed to be shared. The menu combines the culinary traditions and intense flavours of classic street food from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand – noodles, soups, curries and delicious dumplings.
“We're not purists, so if it's tasty, White & Wong's are steaming it, frying it and serving it up fresh and fast,” says Stuart. “In some dishes you’ll find untouched classics like flavoursome massaman and red curry made from scratch, bang bang chicken, and barbecue pork buns, while others, whole peking ducks, numbing and fragrant prawns and barbecue meats are our take on Chinese street food, tweaked and re-imagined.”
The exciting menu combines with a stellar location at the heart of Auckland’s viaduct. The 230 seat restaurant also includes two private dining rooms and three private spaces. Each room is dragon themed and partially enclosed with an open entrance to allow guests to experience privacy yet still enjoy the restaurant atmosphere. In addition to the a-la-carte menu White & Wong's will also offer a banquet menu and deliver Yum Cha lovers another unique option at the Viaduct.
The drinks menu is fresh and innovative with an extensive range of wine, focusing on New Zealand's best aromatic styles to match the vibrant Southeast Asian flavours. International beer brands like Tiger and Heineken will sit alongside an exciting range of cocktails.
Venue Manager for White & Wong's, Sonya Chan, brings a wealth of hospitality experience from her over eight years at Molten Restaurant in Mt Eden.
White & Wong's is the latest offer from Good Group Hospitality, the team behind award-winning waterfront stalwarts Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill and Botswana Butchery. They have undertaken extensive global research to deliver a new take on Southeast Asian inspired cuisine for Auckland, inspired by global eateries in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, UK and the USA.
