Domain Masterplan consultation period extended

Domain Masterplan consultation period extended

Auckland Domain Committee Chair Councillor Christine Fletcher has today confirmed that public consultation over the Auckland Domain 20-year Masterplan has been extended to 24 March, coinciding with consultation over the Auckland Council Annual Budget.

“Public interest in the future of Auckland Domain is high and we have noticed that some submitters to the Annual Budget have cross-referenced the Domain Masterplan. We want to make sure all Aucklanders get a chance to comment on the future of the Domain and that we consider all opinions; extending the consultation period enables us to do that,” she says.

To date, 280 submissions have been received on the Auckland Domain Masterplan. Councillor Fletcher says this is due to the deep and enduring love Aucklanders have for the Domain.

“It’s a special place,” she says.

Submissions can be made on ShapeAuckland.co.nz until 24 March 2016.
