Leaders attend Northland Field Days
Some of the most influential leaders in New Zealand will be making a trip to Dargaville to attend the 32nd Northland Field Days say organisers.
Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce, Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy, Labour Party Leader Andrew Little, and New Zealand First Leader and Northland MP Winston Peters will all make an appearance at the event between 3 - 5 March.
Rt Hon Winston Peters and local representatives from the Green Party of Aotearoa will be making the Field Days a temporary base of operations, with both parties booking sites at the event.
Government will be making its presence felt at the event too with Minister Guy officially opening the event on Thursday 3 March at 11am.
Minister Joyce will attend the Field Days on Friday 4 March while Andrew Little will be attending the event on Thursday 3 March.
Northland Field Days president Lew Duggan says having such a range of political leaders attend the Northland Field Days is an incredible boon as it allows Northlanders to connect with multiple representatives in a way they haven’t managed to before.
“While I can’t speak for the MPs I presume they are attending the Northland Field Days to hear the concerns and aspirations of Northlanders,” says Duggan.
He is not surprised by the congregation of leaders saying the dense gathering of Northland businesses and Northland citizens makes it an excellent place to get a wide view of what is going on in the region at one time.
"500 businesses exhibit their wares on site and 20,000-30,000 people visit the Field Days every year."
"The dialog and ideas they will be able to take away from this event will be both important and fascinating."
Held in Dargaville, two and a half hours Northwest of Auckland, 40 minutes west of Whangarei and one hour South of Kaikohe the Northland Field Days is a fun three day event.
