Taste of Puketāpapa food festival returns for its fourth year
Grand prize up for grabs: win a year’s dining in Puketāpapa
Aucklanders are invited to take their taste buds around
the world and celebrate the city’s most ethnically diverse
area, at Taste of Puketāpapa food festival.
Back for its fourth year, from 30 March to 10 April, the festival is bigger and better with 43 eateries offering a range of signature dishes for just $12 and under.
Auckland
foodies will be taken on a culinary adventure in Mt Roskill
and surrounding suburbs, as they sample the flavours of
Indian, Chinese, European, Middle Eastern cuisine and
more.
Everyone who orders a signature dish during the
festival will be in to win the grand prize of dining out in
Puketāpapa for a year. Additional lucky draw prizes include
a $200 voucher and two hampers, sponsored by Stoddard Road
New World.
To enter, restaurant patrons simply need to
slip their receipt and contact details into the entry boxes,
each time they dine at participating eateries.
Taste
of Puketāpapa is an initiative of Puketāpapa Local Board
and aims to support local businesses and employment, and
promote enjoyment of its rich cultural
diversity.
“Taste of Puketāpapa is a chance for our
diverse local community to share their cultures and love of
food with other Aucklanders. With over 40 eateries offering
up signature dishes at affordable prices, there really is
something delicious on offer for everyone,” says Ella
Kumar, Puketāpapa Local Board member.
Restaurateurs
have eagerly embraced the event.
“We’re pleased to be part of Taste of Puketāpapa for the fourth year in a row, and are still smiling after winning the People’s Choice award last year,” says Kamal Jhaveri, owner/manager of Dosa Plaza on Dominion Rd.
“We love meeting new customers over the festival period who are keen to try out our speciality dish.”
