Update Fatal Crash Putaruru
At approximately 5:20 p.m. yesterday, on Monday the 22nd of February 2016, Police attended a head on crash involving two vehicles on Waotu Road, Putaruru.
One of the vehicles was a rental vehicle.
The driver and front seat passenger of the rental vehicle, were seriously injured, with the driver requiring to be cut free from the vehicle.
Sadly, the female passenger died from her injuries at the scene and the driver was airlifted to Waikato Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were unhurt.
Initial crash assessment is that the rental vehicle was on the incorrect side of the road.
Serious crash investigators are continuing with their investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
