Hamilton Police launch homicide inquiry

Hamilton Police have launched a homicide inquiry after a woman died at Waikato Hospital on Thursday morning.

Detective Sergeant William Loughrin said the victim, who has been formally identified as Raewyn Green, 50 years old, was found unconscious at a Pinfold Avenue address on Monday evening.

Ms Green was taken to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition and died on Thursday morning.

A post mortem was conducted in Auckland which revealed Ms Green sustained injuries consistent with an assault.

A scene examination has been completed at the Pinfold Avenue address and a number of people known to Ms Green have been spoken to.

Ms Green’s family is being supported by Victim Support through this difficult time.

Detective Sergeant Loughrin said Police would like to hear from anyone who had contact with Ms.

Green in the days and hours leading up to her admission to Waikato Hospital on Monday.

Police are also seeking information from the public about any sightings of a man and woman arguing on Monday afternoon/evening, in and around the Pinfold Avenue area.
