Lower Ticket Prices, More Ticket Vendors Make Field Days More Affordable Than Ever

NORTHLAND Field Day organisers have made Northland’s biggest outdoor event even more accessable in 2016 by dropping adult ticket prices, introducing a new family pass and increasing the number of ticket vendors.

Visitors to this year’s Northland Field Days aged over 16 will pay $12 to enter the event, instead of $15 while groups with two adults and up to three children will pay no more than $30 to spend the day at the event.

This makes access to the event more affordable than most other attractions and events in the country at a time when entry prices are going up rather than down and was done so organisers could give back to the community according to Northland Field Days president Lew Duggan.

Duggan says Northlanders have been firm supporters of the event over the last 32 years and the committee wanted to do something for those who had loyally attended the event year after year.

"I know people who have been to every Northland Field Days since its inaugural event in 1984," says Duggan. "They have been baked by sun, soaked by rain and chilled by cyclone-force winds - we need to do something to say thank you."

"And with exhibitor numbers almost being at capacity there’s going to be plenty of people who need to come more than one day."

Approximately 90% of the sites had been booked as early as December 2015 according to event organiser Meagan Edmonds, with exhibitors pouring in much faster than previous years and offering a wider range of products and services.

"If Northlanders had to come to one Northland Field Days event I think this would be the year to do it," says Edmonds. "There’s so much to see and do."

Northlanders looking to purchase their tickets ahead of the event will have more places to buy them with most Farmlands, PGG Wrightsons & Farm Source stores throughout Northland selling tickets.

Duggan warns discounted adult tickets won’t stay around for long. "We had the funds to discount tickets for this event, I’m not sure that will happen again."

Held in Dargaville, two and a half hours Northwest of Auckland, 40 minutes west of Whangarei and one hour South of Kaikohe the Northland Field Days is a fun three day event .
