Council Offers Postal Services to Meet Local Need

Fendalton Service Centre is offering postal services from today.

Fendalton-Waimairi Community Board chair Val Carter said local residents valued convenient access to postal services and the Community Board was pleased with this result after the Fendalton PostShop in Memorial Avenue closed last November.

"This move meets a local need and we are delighted this service is now offered to the community through our existing Service Centre," says Val Carter.

Fendalton Service Centre, on the corner of Clyde and Jeffreys Road, is approximately 600m from the former PostShop with good parking facilities. PO Box services have moved to Riccarton PostShop, 103 Riccarton Road.

Head of Customer Services Sarah Numan says the move shows the Council's commitment to providing services that meet the needs of individual communities.

"The Council is moving towards grouping services together in convenient locations and this is another small step."

Fendalton Service Centre's opening hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
