Go Biking on Go by Bike Day, Wednesday 10 February
Take a photo of yourself commuting by bike next Wednesday 10 February on Go by Bike day and be in to win a custom-built bike.
Auckland Transport is supporting national Go by Bike Day with a photo competition and running a number of bike ‘pit stops’ around the city where people can get some ‘cycle fuel’. It’s a chance to take on some food and drink, have a chat with other people on bikes before heading off to work or study.
The pit stops will be held between 7am-9am on the Northwestern Cycleway outside Unitec, at the Nelson St end of the pink Lightpath, and on North Wharf at Wynyard Quarter.
Auckland Transport is working with project partners Auckland Council and NZ Transport Agency to improve the transport network by expanding the cycle network with a $200million investment over the next three years. The project partners are aiming for a 30% increase in the number of cycle journeys in Auckland by 2019.
