Power Living Yoga launches in New Zealand
Power Living is set to officially launch into New Zealand this month with its very first custom built yoga studio in
Wellington’s CBD. On Saturday 30th January the studio on Johnston Street will be open for a day of free yoga classes
open to Wellington yogis, catering to all levels of experience.
With eight busy Power Living studios already operating in Australia, the move to branch out across the Tasman has been
in the pipeline for sometime explains Founder Duncan Peak.
“Launching into New Zealand marks an exciting milestone for Power Living and something we’ve been planning for the past
2 years. We’ve seen so many Kiwis visit the Power Living studios in Australia for yoga sessions and teacher training
courses, it was only a matter of time before we set up a studio for Kiwis,” explains Peak.
“I spend a lot of time in NZ and have come to know many amazing yogis over here, which is a big part of the new Power
Living journey. Local yogis Jase Te Patu and Justine Hamill are the perfect team foundation for our new Wellington
studio,” he says.
Founded by Duncan Peak in 2004, Power Living Yoga offers a transformational practice that’s become a popular yoga style,
embraced across Australia. With afocus on teaching Vinyasa Yoga, the Australian studios have seen thousands of yogis
come through the doors over the past 12 years and more than 500 yoga students graduate the popular 200 hour teacher
training programme.
The new studio has been thoughtfully designed as a sanctuary in the heart of Wellington’s city, providing both heated
and non-heated classes for the local community. The historic character building on Johnston Street features original
Matai timber flooring, natural sunlight and a chill out space for yogis to unwind and connect.
Power Living leader Jase Te Patu is looking forward to opening the new studio and connecting with local friends and
community.
“It’s all about the Whanau and building a community of nurtured individuals who feel confident and excited to come
through the Power Living doors each week. I know firsthand how good you can feel by starting your journey into yoga and
what a transformation you can make from the inside out – I hope to share this with my fellow Wellington yogis,” says
Jase.
The free yoga day on Saturday 30th is a great way to meet the Power Living team and try out the classes in a relaxed
environment. There will also be several chances to win month long yoga passes through the day.
Yoga teacher and community leader Justine Hamill is already working on ideas for community events and local Wellington
promotions.
“We are kicking off with an amazing special - $49 for your first month of yoga. It’s a great deal and we will give us a
chance to meet many of the locals who live and work in our vibrant city. We know they will love this home away from home
in the heart of the Wellington,” says Justine.
