Stabbing - Gloucester Street - Linwood - Christchurch - Canterbury

The Canterbury Police confirm they are investigating a report of a stabbing in Gloucester Street Linwood. At 6.50 am this morning (Saturday 16 January 2016) a man believed to be aged 46 years and living on his own was found lying outside his address in Gloucester Street.

Linwood. Two witnesses returning home after having finished their night-shift saw the man and went to his aid.

He was located with a knife nearby.

They called ambulance and Police. The man is believed to have a single chest wound.

His injury is described as critical. An investigation has commenced to establish how the injury was caused and whether anyone else is involved. Police have a team of 7 investigators currently working on the case. The victim will not be named until his next of kin are informed.
