Petone temporary i-SITE opens this summer
Lower Hutt’s i-SITE will branch out this summer, with an additional temporary site that opened today in the Historic Police Station at 274b Jackson Street, Petone.
Visitors and residents will be able to book local and nationwide accommodation, activities and transport.
Lower Hutt i-SITE Team Leader Michaela Warren says, “Summer is a great time to be based in Petone with its beach, interesting history and vibrant hospitality and retail scene. It’s popular with cruise ship travellers and other visitors to Lower Hutt. This is a great chance to showcase the range of family-friendly and cost-effective experiences here in the Hutt Valley.
“We are especially happy to be sharing space with the Jackson Street Programme team who are great promoters of Petone as the Hutt Valley’s leading entertainment precinct, it is also fortuitous that over 15 cruise ships are scheduled into Wellington on the dates the temporary i-SITE will operate.”
The temporary Petone i-SITE will be open from 10am – 2pm every Thursday, Friday andSaturday from 7 January to 27 February.
The permanent Lower Hutt i-SITE is located on Laings Road, next to Dowse Square. In 2017 it will move into the Event Centre, currently being built on Laings Road.
