Water Restriction Update 008

Water use restrictions have been lifted in Pauanui. In Tairua and Hahei residents can now use hand-held hoses on alternate days.

Tairua - Sprinkler ban still in place. Even-numbered addresses can use hand-held hoses on even-numbered days of the month (Jan 8th, 10th etc); same goes for odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days of the month. The main reservoir level is steadily recovering and was 55% full this morning.

Hahei - Sprinkler ban still in place but residents can use hand-held hoses on alternate days. Water consumption has dropped to 80% of the consented limit and reservoirs are being maintained at satisfactory levels.

Matatoki - Hose and sprinkler ban.

Matarangi - Use of hand-held hoses on alternate days.

Whangamata and Omahu - Sprinkler ban only.

There are currently no water restrictions in place for the following communities: Thames, Puriri,Whitianga, Pauanui, Onemana and Coromandel Town.

Water restrictions are reviewed daily but updates will only be provided when there is a change in water restriction status.

Water conservation tips:

Please do:

• Take short showers, not baths

• Fix any leaks and dripping taps

• Use full loads to wash clothes/dishes

Please do not:

• Wash cars, boats or trucks

• Fill swimming pools

• Water the garden in the heat of the day

• Clean driveway/patio with hose
