Comment on Titirangi kauri

The action of ring-barking the controversial Titirangi Kauri is one of desperation by two property owners under siege by their nasty neighbours. After going above and beyond their legal obligations, having their property invaded twice by thugs and bullies and wasting thousands of dollars in delays it appears John Lenihan and Jane Greensmith have taken steps to assert their legal rights. I take my hat off to them.

Lenihan and Greensmith, despite being painted as greedy aggressors by their neighbours and the media are actually the victims in this controversy. Nobody should have to endure such a vitriolic assault from their own community for carrying out legal and consented work on their own property.

While the politicians of the left have all jumped on this ignorant bandwagon, I've been the only Mayoral candidate who has spoken up in support of the rights of the property owners to go about their legal business unmolested.

After the trespassers have been charged and convicted they should also be held liable for reimbursing Lenihan and Greensmith for the costs they have incurred as a result of these criminal actions.
