Hutt Valley renews international Safe Community Agreement

Hutt Valley renews international Safe Community Agreement

Safe Hutt Valley, a group of organisations committed to promoting safety in the Hutt Valley, is set to renew an international safety agreement on Monday 14 December.

The occasion will be marked by an official signing ceremony at The Walter Nash Centre from 9-11am.

The agreement recognises Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt’s status as an accredited safe community, part of an international network of communities across New Zealand, Australia, United States of America and Canada.

The public ceremony will be attended by elected officials, representatives from the New Zealand Police, Regional Public Heath, ACC, the Hutt Charitable Trust and the community.

In July 2010 the Hutt Valley (Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt) became the 15th and 16th International Safe Community (ISC) in New Zealand and 203rd in the World.
