Palmerston north Rescue Helicopter Weekly Roundup 8 - 14 Nov
The Palmerston North based Rescue Helicopter flew 5 missions during the period as follows;
Tue 10 An early morning mission for a man hit by a truck on the Desert Road near Waiouru. Due to the weather he was transported by road to Taihape where he was metby the helicopter. He was then airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital. The mission was flown with the aid of Night Vision Goggles. Later that afternoon the helicopter was sent to a Motor Vehicle Accident near Eketahuna for a woman in her 70’s injured after her car came off the road. She was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Fri 13 An afternoon mission near Pukeokahu for a man in his 30’s, injured while rafting on the Rangitikei River after the boat flipped and he hit some rocks. He was airlifted to Whanganui Hospital.
Sat 14 A midday mission to a property near Raetihi for a man in his 60’s who was injured after he fell while pruning some trees. He sustained back injuries in the fall and was airlifted to Whanganui hospital. Later that afternoon the helicopter was sent to Ranana for a woman in her 70’s with a medical emergency. She was airlifted to Whanganui Hospital.
