F.A.W.C! attracts media from around the globe to Hawke’s Bay
F.A.W.C! Food and Wine Classic has proved to be a very compelling reason to visit Hawke’s Bay, with 32 media from New Zealand and around the world coming to experience the food and wine festivities.
International media will come from all corners of the globe such as China, Indonesia, Germany and North America with high profile titles such as Tribune Syndicates which is one of the United States’ largest newspaper groups, owning 30 daily newspapers in 15 US States reaching over 15 million people a week.
Making the long haul from China is broadcast TV crew X-Fun, a weekly travel show that travel globally to introduce delicious food and fun experiences to audiences and fans. The show reaches over 1 million viewers per episode in mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore with an additional 500 000 fans on Weibo and WeChat.
The media will arrive Thursday 5th and spend the next 5 days participating in F.A.W.C events and enjoying other key tourism activities in Hawke’s Bay such as Art Deco, cycling, Gannets and Cape Kidnappers and the Farmers Market.
Annie Dundas, General Manager, Hawke’s Bay Tourism said it was a huge achievement to attract these kind of media numbers to F.A.W.C! “Hosting media is a very cost effective way to promote Hawke’s Bay. Hosting this group will delivering an estimated advertising value of NZ$4.6million in coverage, with us only having to invest a very small amount in logistic costs thanks to our relationships with Tourism New Zealand, Air New Zealand and the very generous local tourism operators”
Mayor of Napier, Bill Dalton said he was very impressed with the international media line up. “We all want to raise the profile of Hawke’s Bay and having valuable TV shows and magazines experience everything our region has to offer first hand is incredibly valuable. Hats off to F.A.W.C! for giving them an enticing reason to visit”
Other media includes five wine writers from China and The World’s Luxury Magazine. New Zealand media scheduled to visit include Bite, the NZ Herald Food magazine and Dish Magazine.
