Kapiti Run for Youth (KR4Y) is all set to go on Sunday 8
November. “The weather is looking good and we have 350
registered to participate. On the day we always have more
people turn up to run or walk as individuals or adding to
existing groups so hopefully we will achieve more than 400
on the day,” says Richard Calkin of Web Genius.
“We have some good spot prizes as sponsors CityFitness, Shoe Clinic and Low Tax Accounting Services have provided other nice tangible prizes for the race winners,” says Helene Judge, the Campaign Manager for KR4Y.
Helene goes on to say that “it’s all go on the day with lots of motivated and happy people arriving at registration. 16Nine Photographer, Lee Frampton will coordinate group photos to capture lasting memories as we find everyone likes to look back on these photos.”
The Kapiti Basketball Association has joined as a Fundraising Partner this year. They will be running Hoop Club on the day at Maclean Park and they have a team of club members and officials participating. “They are an awesome club who role model and believe in the spirit of sport and how it can impact positively on the lives of youth,” says Helene.
Richard goes on to say, “we have been
working hard behind the scenes to raise as much money as we
can for the youth of Kapiti. 80% of the funds raised will
be distributed to Youth Quest and registered Fundraising
Partners’ (Activate Youth, Girl Guiding Kapiti, Kapiti
Basketball Association, Kapiti Youth Support, Kenakena
School Boys Mentoring Group, No 49 (Kapiti) Squadron Air
Training Corps, Paraparaumu Beach School and Paraparaumu
Playcentre). Richard also pays tribute to other generous
