Auckland: Concern grows for missing Indian student

"Concern grows for missing Indian student"

Auckland City Police say they hold real concerns for the welfare of missing Indian student Mandeep Singh, who hasn't been seen for over two days.

Police held a media stand up in the Viaduct Harbour this afternoon near the site where Mandeep Singh, 20, was last seen on Sunday morning at around3am.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant, Marcia Murray told media that Mandeep's disappearance was out of character and Police do hold real concerns for his welfare.

"At this stage we have had no sightings of him after he left Burngalow 8 bar at around 3am on Sunday morning and we would ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time and might have seen Mandeep to please contact us on (09) 302 6557.

"We are keeping an open mind about his disappearance and searches of the area have continued today including a search of the waterways around Viaduct Harbour.

"Mandeep's family are deeply concerned about his disappearance and our focus remains on trying to find him," she added.
