Canterbury Police were called to a residential address in Wainoni this morning (12 October 2015) after a man in his 20’s received multiple stab wounds.
Detective Sergeant Ross Tarawhiti says a man was arrested at the scene. “Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident. The victim is being treated in Christchurch Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.”
A 53 year old man is due to appear in Christchurch District Court this afternoon charged with wounding with intent to cause GBH.
Canterbury Police investigations are ongoing and a scene examination was completed earlier today.
As this matter is before the court no further comment will be made at this time.
