It is
with great sadness that Acting Mayor Mike Cardiff has
announced the death of the Mayoress
Vicki Church, nee McCarthy.
Vicki died today in Wellington Hospital after a two-year battle with cancer.
Acting Mayor Cardiff says Vicki, wife of Mayor Ross Church and mother of two adult children, will be hugely missed by her family and wide circle of friends in Kāpiti.
“This is the worst possible news and our thoughts are with Ross, Vicki’s children Chris and Harriet, her mother Maureen and wider family.
“I know I speak on behalf of my fellow elected members and the Council staff in extending our deepest condolences and sorrow.”
Councillor Cardiff will continue to carry out the Mayoral duties and responsibilities over the coming weeks.
