It’s All Black at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak
It’s looking All Black and All White up at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak.
Confused?
With just a few days left to lap up superb sun-soaked days on soft springy snow these school holidays, the mountain’s upping the ante for its final weekend this Saturday and Sunday (Oct 3 and 4).
In support of our boys in black, a selection of Coronet Peak’s rental skis are now proudly ‘all black’ from tip to tail. The all black skis will be available at the bottom of the Coronet Express chairlift for guests to ski a run or two this Saturday (October 3).
As the AB’s play live against Georgia from 8am, the match will be shown on the big screen with a special ‘All Blacks Breakfast’ on offer for $15 including a coffee.
The all black skis proudly bear the distinctive Silver Fern at their tip, giving skiers the perfect photo opportunity for what’s bound to be a celebratory day on the snow.
Ski area manager Ross Copland says there’s no reason to miss out on a final ‘snow hit’ this week.
“It’s been a cracker of a season and we’ve smashed our previous snowfall record so we’re going out on a high,” he says. “It’s a long countdown to next year.”
Sunday’s closing day celebrations will include a dress-up Beach Party and Pond Skim with all welcome to enter or come along to watch the fun.
