Extortion - Mt Pleasant, Christchurch - Canterbury
This afternoon Christchurch detectives arrested a male youth in connection with the writing and sending of threatening letters to families living in Mount Pleasant in June this year.
The male will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Thursday 1 October having been charged with two counts of Extortion.
The complainants have been advised and are relieved that the male responsible will be held to account for the stress he has caused to them and to the people living in the Mount Pleasant community.
There will be no further comment.
