Police seek public's help to find escaped high risk offender

Police are actively searching for Patrick McGreevy (refer image).

McGreevy is regarded as a high risk offender and has previous convictions for dishonesty, abduction and sexual offending against a child.

McGreevy is currently on a ten year extended supervision order under the Parole Act, expiring in 2019.

He has removed his monitoring bracelet and was last known to be in Christchurch shortly before 1AM this morning (Saturday 26 September).

Police were notified soon afterwards and visited the address to look for McGreevy.

Due to his history Police hold concerns for the potential risk McGreevy poses to the community and would now like the public's assistance to help find him.

McGreevy is a male caucasian/Pakeha aged 45yrs, he is 177cm tall, of medium build and has tattoos including a cross/swastika on his left thumb and a dragon/mythological creature on his left forearm.

He was wearing a blue/black/grey hoodie and black jeans with grey and blue trim when he was last seen.

If you see McGreevy or are aware of his location please do not approach him.

Instead, please phone Police immediately by calling 111 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
