Smoke Bomb Discovered - Westgate - Waitemata
Police were called to a Fred Taylor Drive address in Westfield at 10.23am today when the occupants discovered an old smoke bomb while clearing out the garage.
it is thought the item had been there for 50 years.
Defence Force Ordnance Disposal were called and removed the item without incident.
The nearest neighbours are 30m from the property and there was no danger posed to members of the public; cordons were in place for a period of time as a precaution however.
