Delays Taramakau Bridge, road surface repairs Friday 25 September, 2015
Routine surface repairs are planned for the Taramakau Bridge tomorrow, Friday, 25 September. It will result in up to 15 minute delays over the day, with the morning and afternoon busy periods open.
7.30 am to 9.00 am open
The NZ Transport Agency’s Fulton Hogan crew will work 6.00am-7.30am, then break until 9.00am to avoid the school and work rush.
3.00 pm to 4.00 pm open
They will then work until 3.00pm and break from 3.00pm until 4.00pm to allow the school buses and school traffic to go through.
At all other times, drivers should anticipate up to 15 minute delays at the bridge.
The timetable will look like this:
Start work 6:00
Stop work 7:30
Start work 9:00
Stop work 15:00
Start work 16:00
Stop work 19:00
“The Transport Agency apologises for the short notice for this work, due to a combination of resourcing, rail coordination, and weather. The work has been necessary and programmed for some time. Until the bridge is replaced, this maintenance will need to happen every few months,” said Pete Connors, Regional Performance Manager NZ Transport Agency.
