Wairarapa - Information sought in relation to approach made to a child
Wairarapa Police are seeking information about an incident that occured at approximately 3:15pm on Tuesday 15 September 2015 in Greytown. A young boy was biking home from Greytown School, south along East Street, when he was approached by a man in a vehicle who told him several times to get in to the car.
At one point the man got out of his vehicle and spoke to the boy.
The boy is to be commended for acting very sensibly.
He ignored the man and continued biking to his home nearby where he told someone what had happened. The vehicle is described as a red sedan, possibly dark red, and is an older model.
The man is described as being older in age with long messy white hair and a white beard. Wairarapa Police asks that anyone who has information that may assist in this matter to contact them on (06) 370 0300 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
