Fatal crash - Dunsandel - State Highway 1 Dunsandel - Canterbury

Fatal crash on SH1 Main Sth Rd, Dunsandel At approximately 5:00pm this evening emergency services were called to a two
vehicle crash on SH1 Dunsandel.
Two vehicles have collided head on.
The driver and sole occupant of the Subaru, a 20 year old male, was confirmed as deceased at the scene.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
No further details of the deceased male will be released until the process to inform next of kin has been completed.
The driver and occupants of a Toyota vehicle have been taken to Christchurch Hospital.
Detours are in place on SH1 while Canterbury Police Serious Crash Unit completed a scene examination. South bound
traffic is being detoured at Frasers Road and North bound traffic being detoured at Sheats Road.
Police investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
