20 September 2015 Hamilton Zoo Tiger Attack Emergency Services were called to the Hamilton Zoo just after 11:00am this morning, after reports that a zoo keeper had been attacked by a tiger. Senior Sergeant Juliet Burgess, Waikato District Command Centre said “sadly the staff member who was attacked by the tiger has died at the scene”.
“This is a tragic incident”. “It is too early to determine exactly what’s happened.
Hamilton Police are working with Hamilton Zoo staff and Worksafe NZ to investigate”. Mrs Burgess said that the victims name would not be released today, as Police require sufficient time to advise their family.

Hamilton Zoo Tiger Attack UPATE: Please be further advised on todays Hamilton Zoo TigerAttack The deceased was a senior member of the zoo team she has been a Zoo Keeper for over 20 years.
Her name is Samantha Lynda KUDEWEH.
Samantha was 43 years of age and resided in Pirongia. Samantha’s family have been advised and are aware of the media release
