Firearms and cannabis seized from Timaru property
Canterbury Police have seized drugs and firearms from a residential property located 300-400m from Timaru Central Police Station after executing a search warrant at around 9am this morning.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested says a cannabis grow consisting of 22 plants were located in a shed on the property. “Along with these plants Police also seized a large sack of dried cannabis and a firearm.”
A 38 year old Timaru man has been arrested and charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of cannabis for supply. He is due to appear in Timaru District Court at a later date.
“Police are committed to disrupting the supply of illegal drugs in Canterbury and stopping the crime this activity supports. Canterbury Police want everyone in our District to be safe and feel safe” explained Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Quested.
