Northland Inc congratulates Innovate Northland business finalists
The four finalists named last night for the Innovate Northland business award have all employed a unique approach to give them a clear advantage in the way they operate, says Northland Inc chief executive David Wilson.
The four finalists – Donovan Group, Northpower Fibre, Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST) and New Zealand Honey Traders – were chosen from a list of 15 entries for the 2015 awards at a special announcement of the finalists last night at the NorthTec Apprentice Restaurant in Whangarei.
“Northland Inc would like to congratulate the four finalists who not only filled the required criteria but in doing so demonstrated how their innovative approach has given them a distinct competitive advantage in their area of business,” Mr Wilson says.
“It is also heartening to see that all finalists have used digital technologies in their innovations.”
Donovan Group is a family-owned Whangarei manufacturing company with a steel building franchise network that operates throughout the nation.
The second finalist Northpower Fibre is an ultra-fast broadband company formed through a partnership between the government-owned digital entity Crown Fibre and energy company Northpower.
Third finalist in the Innovate Northland award is the Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST), a charitable trust established to provide a dedicated emergency rescue helicopter service for the people of Northland.
The fourth finalist is the Hokianga-based New Zealand Honey Traders who specialise in making high quality Manuka honey.
The winner of the Innovate Northland award will be named at the Westpac Northland Business Excellence Awards night on Friday 23th October.
“Northland Inc congratulates all the finalists and looks forward to announcing the winner at that prestigious event,” Mr Wilson says.
