Update - Fatal truck crash - Te Kuiti - Waikato
Further to the earlier release regrding the crash at Te Kuiti District Road Policing Manager, Inspector Freda Grace said emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in south of Te Kuiti at about 2.55pm. "The Serious Crash Unit is still investigating the crash so it's too early to go into detail of what occurred. "What we can say at this point is there has been a single vehicle crash.
It appears that the vehicle has crossed the centreline and has struck a tree on the opposite side of the road ." "The driver tragically died at the scene and his death has been reported to the Corner. "Every death on our road is a tragedy and Police urge all drivers to exercise care when driving whether driving on rural or urban roads, it is important to understand the environment you are driving in and drive to those conditions.”
