Victim of rural incident near Staveley named
Canterbury Police were alerted to an incident at a rural property near Staveley at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon (6 September 2015). The victim has been confirmed as 72 year old Ian Lester Totty.
The death has been referred to the Coroner. Ian's family are incredibly upset and are being supported by family, friends and neighbours.
Senior Constable Mike Seque says "Ian's family have asked that their privacy be respected while they come to terms with their loss. Police understand that Ian was working on the roof of a barn and was found by a member of his family. Emergency services attended but unfortunately he was confirmed as deceased at the scene."
