Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter weekly update 16 - 29 Aug
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter completed 7 missions and conducted crew hoist training over the period. The missions are as follows;
Sun 16 An evening mission to Marton To assist Police in a search for a missing 9 year old boy. The mission was flown using Night Vision Goggle and a FLIR Camera and a Nightsun search light.
Fri 21 An evening mission to Waiouru for a 3 year old girl with a medical emergency. She was airlifted, along with her Mum, to Wanganui Hospital.
Sat 22 A morning mission to Dannevirke for a man in his 70’s with a medical emergency. He was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Sun 23 A morning mission to Raetihi for a woman in her 30’s with a medical emergency. She was airlifted to Wanganui Hospital. Later that afternoon the helicopter was sent to Bulls for a man in his teens after he was injured in a fall from his motocross bike. He was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Thu 27 An evening mission to Taihape for a man in his 50’s with a medical emergency. He was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Sat 29 An afternoon mission to Taihape for a 7 month old baby boy with a medical emergency. He was airlifted, along with his Dad, to Wanganui Hospital.
