Maggie's death not believed to be accidental

Police investigating the death of four year-old Maggie Watson, whose body was found in her Onehunga home at about 4am on Friday, August 7, believe her death was not an accident.

The officer in charge of the homicide investigation, Detective Inspector Hayden Mander, says results from a number of tests and examinations have been disclosed to Police.

"Those results, combined with a number of discussions with various experts, lead us to the conclusion that another person or people were involved in Maggie's tragic death.

"We have carried out a considerable number of inquiries over the past three weeks and the investigation is ongoing.

"My staff have remained in contact with various members of Maggie's scattered family over this time in an effort to keep them informed of progress."
