Christchurch City Council Statement
Following on from a media enquiry we have received on this today please see the below statement. We don't have any further comment to make on this matter.
Christchurch City Council has recently been alerted to individuals who have been visiting private properties claiming they are from Christchurch City Council and needing to test for asbestos.
The Council is not carrying out asbestos testing at private properties. Any Council employees would be carrying Christchurch City Council identification.
Anyone who may be contacted by these individuals should contact the Police.
