Kapiti Food Fair 2015 set for growth

Kapiti Food Fair 2015 set for growth

The Kapiti Food Fair 2015 is delighted to announce a new Principal Supporter of the Fair. Over the last few months the Kapiti Rotary Club has been talking to the Fair about their potential involvement. Their Executive has now made the decision to align some of their time and resources to help build an even more sustainable Fair.

“This is awesome,” says Helene Judge, Fair Spokesperson. She goes on to say, “the Fair is firmly anchored in the annual event calendar for Kapiti and is becoming increasingly known to vendors and visitors from all around New Zealand. Our vision has always been focused on creating an enduring event that draws lots of people for a really fun and fabulous day out. We believe that Kapiti is the perfect place to run a food and beverage pop up event particularly as we are part of the broader Wellington region which is known internationally as the cuisine capital – Kapiti is well placed to leverage off that as we are already known as a place that manufacturers quality artisan food and beverage for local and international markets.”

Rotary Club of Kapiti, President Roger Sowry says “we have been watching the development of the Kapiti Food Fair and have often looked at what the Rotary Club of Martinborough has done for Wairarapa in the art and craft world. They have been successfully running the art and craft fair for the benefit of their local community and the enjoyment of all people that come from around New Zealand for more than 25 years. We are hopeful that our association with the Kapiti Food Fair can align in the same way.”

Roger goes on to say “that local charities including the Kapiti Food Bank, Youth Quest and Kapiti Youth Support are the agreed organisations who will benefit from our association with the Kapiti Food Fair. The Fair has restructured gate entry to be free for kids and $5 for an adult so everyone is working hard behind the scenes to maximize the return back to these organisations which is all very exciting.”

The date for the Fair is Saturday 5th December 2015 at Mazengarb Reserve – note your calendar now and tell all your friends, family and colleagues to come for a great gastronomic day out.

Vendors wishing to book a site should go to the Kapiti Food Fair web site – don’t delay as there are 70+ sites already booked – http://www.kapitifoodfair.net/Vendor-Bookings.html

Annabelle White, popular television and radio cooking personality (www.annabellewhite.com) is this year’s celebrity chef at the Fair. She will also be running a masterclass for those who want to share good food and fun times in the kitchen with Annabelle. Tickets will be on sale later in August.
