Armageddon Expo Limits Ticket Sales to Cope with Success
Armageddon Expo’s Twentieth Anniversary event is looming for Auckland this Labour Weekend, and if you want to attend on the biggest day, Saturday 24th, you’re going to have to move fast!
Following the monster event in Auckland last year and record numbers for the recent Wellington event in July, tickets for entry on Saturday October 24, typically the busiest day of the expo, are being reduced by 10% and moved to PRE-SALES only to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants and guests.
There will be NO DOOR SALES at all on the Saturday of the event.
Exhibition founder William Geradts says that this is a big step for the event, but dramatic growth in recent years has taken the ASB Showgrounds venue to capacity and he wants to ensure a manageable flow of fans throughout the weekend.
“Our priority is making sure everybody has a good time, which is why we’ve taken this step to reduce congestion and make things more comfortable,” said Geradts.
“Anybody who wants to attend on Saturday should make sure they book their tickets early so they don’t miss out,” he said.
Tickets will go on sale on August 1st, with a number of different options including general admission, multiday tickets, VIP Passes and tickets to the ‘Special Spookers’ and anniversary party events.
There will also be early access to tickets from Friday the 31st of July through Mighty Ape. This is available by subscribing to Mighty Ape’s announcement newsletter, which will be sent out with details of the exclusive offer as it goes live.
And it is no surprise that Armageddon Expo continues to be so popular, with an exciting guest lineup of international stars already announced for Auckland, including Maggie Roswell (The Simpsons), Paul Blackthorne (Arrow, The Dresden Files, 24), John Wesley Shipp (The Flash, Teen Wolf), Jake the Snake Roberts (Wrestling), Rick Cosnett (The Flash, Vampire Diaries), Dina Meyer (Starship Troopers, Saw, Birds of Prey), Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The 100, Dollhouse, Being Human), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers, Sleepy Hollow), NIcki Aycox (Supernatural), Rachel Miner (Supernatural), Alex Heartman (Power Rangers), Azim Rizk (Power Rangers), Ty Olsson (Supernatural) and Robert Maschio (Scrubs).
Anime, Cartoon and Cosplay guests include Mela Lee (Rozen Maiden, Vampire Knight, Fate/Stay Night, Magnolia Memoir), Stephanie Sheh (Sailor Moon Crystal, Bleach, Naruto, Eureka Seven), Chuck Huber (Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker), Hal Rayle (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, The Ant and the Aardvark, G.I. Joe), Aimee Blackschleger (Final Fantasy XIII-2, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Living Universe) and Courtenay Taylor (Regular Show, Resident Evil games, Skylanders, Mass Effect, Fallout 4).
Comics, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Cards guests include Christian Gossett (The Red Star, Warden, Attica), Kevin Maguire (Captain America, Justice League, X-Men), Dave Johnson (Deadpool, Punisher Max, 100 Bullets), Zander Cannon (Top 10, Smax, Kaijumax) and Richard Fairgray (Blastosaurus, I Fight Crime, Anoraks and Acolytes).
Additional guests announcements will be made before tickets go on sale on August 1, and throughout the month.
