Miss Universe New Zealand semifinalist Tara Cole-Baker returned to her hotel on Saturday to an unpleasant surprise: her beloved 2001 Honda Integra Type S had been stolen from Emily Place, Auckland.
The silver Honda, registraton FGC923, was customized with distinctive rims worth $300 each, a body kit, and bucket racing seats.
To add to Ms Cole-Baker’s stress, an irreplaceable photo album covering her childhood, that she has just collected from her mother, was in the boot of her car.
In Auckland for the weekend from her home town in Hamilton, Ms Cole-Baker said of the daylight theft, ‘I can’t believe anyone would steal my car during the day.’
Till then, she had been enjoying the competition’s second Stiletto Camp in Morningside, before returning to the very rude welcome in central Auckland in the early evening.
A police report has been filed as Ms Cole-Baker joins the many who have had their vehicle stolen in Auckland of late.
Information is welcome, both by the police and by the Miss Universe New Zealand organization, which has encouraged supporters to keep a look-out for the unique silver Honda Integra.
