Northland DHB not proceeding with national food and laundry business cases

Northland DHB continues to be actively engaged in progressing and considering a number of national business cases, including shared banking and insurance and working through the implementation of the national finance, procurement and supply chain programme and the national infrastructure platform.

The Northland DHB Board have considered the benefits and operational risks of the national food and laundry business cases.  After careful consideration, the Board has made the decision not to proceed.

Northland DHB chief executive Dr Nick Chamberlain said: “We carefully considered the proposal and were concerned about the operational risk given our unique geographic and remote aspects of our region as well as the local impact to our staff and suppliers”.

“DHBs all have different situations and environments.  In considering ours, we have opted not to proceed with these two particular business cases”.
