Spark Digital behind
Wellington’s latest Free Ambulance
Spark Digital has teamed with Tommy’s Real Estate, ANZ and Lion Foundation to sponsor the latest member of the Wellington Free Ambulance fleet.
The new vehicle starts its service today, based at the Johnsonville station and will service the entire region.
Wellington Free Ambulance depends on support and donations from companies like Spark Digital to provide a free emergency service covering the Greater Wellington area and Wairarapa.
The organisation buys six new Mercedes ambulances a year at a fully kitted-out cost of $230,000. Each ambulance has a working life of around three and a half years.
The
ambulance fit out includes Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs),
tablets equipped with customised apps to help paramedic
crews navigate, communicate and report on patients’
status.
Spark Digital’s CEO Tim Miles was in Wellington
today for the unveiling. “We are hugely proud to support
an organisation that provides such a vital service for the
people of our capital.
“Our customers and all local residents value the Wellington Free Ambulance service, so it’s a privilege to be able to help them better aid the 450,000 people in the area. “
Wellington Free Ambulance Chief Executive Diana Crossan said: "We're proud to be here for the people of Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, and we are lucky to have such strong support from the people around us. When organisations donate to Wellington Free Ambulance they are helping their whole community. For that we are extremely grateful.”
