New Chief of Staff for Auckland Mayor
Barry Ebert has been appointed as Chief of Staff to Auckland Mayor Len Brown.
Mr Ebert has more than 30 years of experience in public and corporate affairs and for the past eight years, he has been Managing Director of Auckland-based consultancy Three Point Two Communications Limited working with clients in retail banking, general insurance and agribusiness, as well as in central and local government.
Mr Ebert brings to the role strong commercial acumen and extensive experience in the public service, Parliament and ministerial offices. He replaces Phil Wilson who has become Director of Governance at Auckland Council.
The appointment is effective July 13.
